General Conference Information

  • What is Polymer Day?
    • Polymer Day is a one-day conference held at MIT for students at MIT and other northeast universities to present their polymer-related research.
  • How do I access the buildings?
    • A map of the building entrances is available here.
  • Where can I park on the day of the event?
    • You can benefit from an MIT Visitor Parking permit as part of your Polymer Day registration. Please make sure to check the box in the registration form, or contact Gregory Sands at gsands@mit.edu.

Presenters

  • What type of research can I present?
    • Anything polymer related! Whether fundamentals or application-based, computational or experimental, all are welcome. Our goal is to create an environment for interdisciplinary polymer research to be shared.
  • Can I get reimbursed for my trip?
    • We offer travel grants (up to $50) for poster presenters as part of the MIT Polymer Day registration. Please mention in the registration that you would like to be considered for a travel grant. We will ask you to provide the required documentation and/or receipts for each expense being reimbursed. The most common travel documentation required is documentation of private auto mileage. This can be documented using a Google map showing the route traveled and the mileage each way. The total reimbursement is then made based on the IRS per mile rate. This will be handled post-event, and you will be contacted by our admin (Gregory Sands) for more details on it later.
  • What size should my poster be? Can it be digital?
    • The maximum size of the poster is 40×60”. At this time, we are not set up for digital posters, so please print yours ahead of time.
  • When do I set my poster up? When can I pick my poster up?
    • Poster set up will occur during the morning registration session (Tentatively 9-10 AM). You will take down your poster after the judging is complete. We will provide announcements throughout the day to make sure you know when these times occur.

  • How much space will we have for our booth?

  • Can we ship corporate swag to the conference?
